Steffan Demetropoulos is a Michigan resident, Army veteran, and construction project manager. Steffan enlisted at 17 and served on active duty in the U.S. Army, including a combat deployment to Afghanistan and a tactical training operation in Romania. After military service, Steffan built a career in construction project management, helping deliver complex projects to include K‑12 school facilities and public-sector work. Steffan is a family man who believes leadership is demonstrated through service, accountability, and follow-through. Steffan’s professional work focuses on coordinating teams, managing budgets and schedules, and solving real-world problems under pressure. All are skills Steffan believes are essential for effective public leadership. Steffan lives in Macomb, Michigan with deep roots in the community and a commitment to supporting families, workers, and the next generation.
  • I prioritize reducing costs for Michigan families by addressing inflation and limiting unnecessary government spending. Families work hard for their income. Federal policy should focus first on domestic needs rather than expanding commitments that strain taxpayers. I support a more disciplined approach to spending that includes reviewing foreign expenditures and eliminating programs identified as fraud, waste, or abuse. Taxpayer dollars should be used responsibly, with clear justification and measurable benefit to the American public. My focus is on keeping more money in the pockets of U.S. citizens by preventing unnecessary tax increases and ensuring federal spending decisions reflect the interests of the people who fund the government.
  • I believe restoring trust in government starts with accountability and transparency. Americans deserve honest answers from elected leaders and federal agencies, and when information is withheld or the public is misled, confidence in institutions erodes. I support bringing decision-making and oversight back to the people through clear reporting, stronger checks and balances, and real consequences for misconduct or abuse of power. Accountability must apply consistently—regardless of position or party. Public trust also depends on public safety and equal justice. I support effective, timely enforcement of the law and a justice system that holds offenders accountable while respecting due process.
  • Our children are the future of this nation, and I believe their future should be shaped first by loving, engaged parents—not by career politicians or distant bureaucracies. We owe the next generation a country they can be proud of, and that starts with stronger schools and higher standards. I support putting education decisions closer to families and communities, with clear expectations for academic quality and school safety. I also believe classroom material should be age-appropriate and that parents deserve transparency and a meaningful voice in what schools teach and how they operate. Finally, I support school activities and athletics being organized in a way that is fair and consistent, based on biological sex as recorded at birth.
I’m most passionate about three areas: fiscal responsibility and affordability for working families; accountable, transparent government; and strengthening outcomes for children. My military service and career managing complex construction projects taught me that leadership is about discipline, clear priorities, and measurable results. As a parent, I’m especially focused on education and child well-being—ensuring schools emphasize strong academics, safe environments, and age-appropriate learning, with parents treated as partners rather than bystanders.
