Batiste Morrison ran for election to the Texas District 252.
Primary: She was successful in the Democratic primary on March 4, 2014, receiving 31.5 percent of the vote. She competed against Raquel West and Nathan Reynolds, Jr.
Runoff: Because no candidate received more than 50% of the vote, Morrison faced West in a runoff election on May 27, 2014. Morrison was defeated, earning 43.8% of the vote.
