Stephanie K. Bowman is a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. She was first appointed to this position on October 29, 2010. Her current term expired on October 28, 2018.[1]
Early life and education
Judge Bowman earned her bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1997, and her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law in 2000.[1]
Career
From 2000-2001, Judge Bowman practiced immigration law at McKinney & Namei. In late 2001, she joined Barrett & Weber, LPA, as an associate attorney. She joined the district court in 2006 as a chambers law clerk to the Honorable Michael Barrett. She was appointed as a federal magistrate judge on October 29, 2010.[1]
