  • Expose & Prevent Corruption at City Hall
  • Reform Mismanagement of City Finances
  • Modernize City Services through Technology Enhancements & Civil Service/Contracting Reform
Exposing and curtailing the corrupting influence of money in politics: Ensuring that taxpayers get their fair share and are represented, instead of powerful special interests who control our local politicians; Improving fiscal transparency of budget and finances so that Angelenos can better 'follow the money'; Ensuring that City services are delivered as efficiently, effectively, and equitably as possible; Improving infrastructure and cleaning up this city through better trash and asset management systems; Providing Angelenos with more City jobs
Officials should be ethical, have integrity and should look out for taxpayers instead of special interests.
Evanescence - My immortal (oldie but goodie that got stuck in my head again recently!)
Work-Life Balance - At times, it's been a challenge to balance being a mom and having a fast-paced job (along with lots of sleep deprivation), while taking care of a sick parent. It's very challenging for moms (and dads!) trying to do it all, and there is always that guilt that you're not doing great at any of your 'jobs'. That's why as a manager, I've advocated for better work-life balance, alternative work schedules and telecommuting.
Yes, Los Angeles government is such a large confusing bureaucracy and it can take a long time to truly understand it. I've worked in LA City government for 25+ years so I understand from an insider perspective what the core issues are facing LA. While many candidates state they want to reduce waste and inefficiency in government, those are empty campaign slogans because they don't really understand how LA government works. But I do, I know why there is waste and inefficiency in government. I have that inside experience to identify the core problems and what we need to do about them. But I'm not status quo; I think like an outsider.
