Davis made the following statement to Ballotpedia regarding her political philosophy:[1]
“ |
Representation is what government is about. My platform, his platform, her platform - none of a politician's beliefs should matter. What SHOULD matter is someone's conviction to serve the people in the area that elected them as a Representative. Not corporations, not personal morals, but the morals and ethics of the people voting should be what representation and government is all about. We've really lost sight of this and we've settled for voting for the "lesser evil" and those that we kind of, sort of agree with. That's not how democracy was meant to work! I have a plan to make government more transparent, using technology to create a government that exposes those that aren't working for the people that voted them into office - it will help regular, busy citizens make wise, educated choices regarding their options without having to sift through ridiculous amounts of information to find out who is truly representing them in government. I'm excited to get to Jefferson City and make this happen! I'm passionate about bringing back real representation to the government! I hope and pray that I will have that chance! [2] |
