Burke ran for re-election for judge of the Kentucky 30th District Court 14th Division. She won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Biography
Burke received both her undergraduate degree and J.D. from Ohio Northern University.[1] Before her election to the court in 2010, Burke worked as an attorney at her own law practice from 2002 to 2010. She worked as an assistant commonwealth's attorney in 1995 and as an associate and managing attorney for the O'Koon Law Firm from 1995 to 2002. Burke has also previously served as a staff attorney for the Jefferson Family Court, as a guardian ad litem, as a contract attorney and public advocate for the Louisville Metro Defender's Office and the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy, and as a founder and mediator of "Resolutions of Kentucky".[2]

Burke was elected to the 30th District Court. She defeated incumbent Mason Trenaman with 62.55 percent of the vote on November 2, 2010.[4][5]

The judges of the Kentucky District Courts are elected in nonpartisan elections. They serve four-year terms and must run for re-election if they wish to serve again.[6][7]
Qualifications
To serve on this court, a judge must be:[6]
- a U.S. citizen;
- a resident of the represented district for at least two years; and
- licensed to practice law for at least two years.
