Community oriented activist bringing the issues common people are facing with government services at the intersection of how life is going (aka The Struggle). I've found listening to what's going on for people in tough times can reveal quite a bit. Those with the answers sadly aren't always easy to reach, this is getting worse since the pandemic with guidelines to reduce "social contact". I believe discovering ACCESS to opportunistic is essential in finding solutions. If you know what's blocking access you can then address it as best you can. Sometimes we all could use guidance. Technology makes so much possible, but it requires solutions builders to bring it together. As a computing professional with people skills that's what I did for over 20 years. Time moves forward and for some what we engage in doing changes too. In my youth, my father was in the Air Force. Our housing was typically a trailer park just outside the base. He left service after 10 years and 5 moves for the family. From 1970 I grew up in Royal Oak, then went to Wayne State University for Computer Science degree. After college I worked in downtown Detroit for 20 years in corporate computing positions. I've been married, have a daughter, and divorced in that time. In 2006 I lost the RO home my father grew up in. I turned to living in Detroit with friends, moving often, trying to find stability. As a bus rider I've seen much of Detroit.
  • ACCESS is required to acquire opportunities!
  • Communities that share perspectives on issues gain greater access, and are often more creative. Our shared experiences can guide others seeking to learn.
  • If we market ACCESS to opportunities more effectively the public can be more inclusive. Establishing pathways for success in various life circumstances can improve life for everyone, and reduce stress/trauma.
Transportation, environment, housing, food, water, education, and justice. Our society has been drifting away from making life easier without capital outlays. Good government can change that and deliver equitable outcomes.
County government spans the gaps between cities and the state. The conditions from city to city typically aren't the same - comprehending interfaces that adapt to fit local needs is crucial.
I enjoy learning about Black Civil Rights leaders & philosophers, such as James Baldwin. There have been incredible strides made, and yet our society continues to leverage and benefit from colonization, and wilful oppression.
Recently I've been interested in historian Ilan Pappè.
The ability to listen and learn from the perspective of constituents. Interacting while forming solutions brings engagement up and community develops from that.
Hearing that RFK was assassinated, I was 6 years old. The following year the first lunar landing happened. My father's side is predominately Irish decent, arriving in Staten Island, NY in 1906.
Newspaper delivery, shoveling snow, then being a sales clerk at my family's business, Alcove Hobby Shop in 1976. It opened when I was a HS sophomore, during college I was visiting other stores across metro Detroit selling gaming products for the 2nd family business, Greenfield Hobby Distributors. I then changed course to pursue jobs in computing as my degree program was ending in 1983. Both family businesses shut down before 2000, likely because computer gaming was becoming more popular than face to face gaming. Hobby shops are rare in today's society.

Issues

Political philosophy

Boyle submitted the following statement about his political philosophy to Ballotpedia:[1]

I wish to increase awareness of communities in my district whom are not being recognized and oppressed. The forms of oppression include excessive pollution, loss of property rights, experimental education endeavors, and more. I've been active in the community and my work has brought real measurable change.[3]
