Stephen C. Mathers
Stephen C. Mathers was a judge of the Ninth Judicial Circuit in Illinois.[1] A 32-year veteran of the bench, Mathers retired on December 5, 2010, but was called back to the Ninth Judicial Circuit to help with the caseload following Edward R. Danner's retirement.[2] Mathers' appointment was effective on November 12, 2013, and expired on December 1, 2014.[3]
Education
Mathers earned his B.A. from Northwestern University in 1968. He went on to obtain his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1974.[3]

- 1980-2010: Circuit judge, Illinois Ninth Judicial Circuit Court

- 1968-1971: Counter-intelligence special agent, U.S. Army
Prior to serving on the bench, Mathers was engaged in private practice and served as the assistant state's attorney in Kane County[3][4]
