Gov. Tom Wolf (D) appointed DeFrank to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission on September 20, 2022.[1]
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro (D) appointed DeFrank Chair of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission on August 30, 2023, replacing Gladys Brown. [2] DeFrank was reappointed by Gov. Josh Shapiro (D), confirmed by the Pennsylvania State Senate, and sworn in on June 4, 2025 for a second term, serving as chair.[3]
Biography
Before his appointment to the commission, DeFrank worked at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, a public relations firm.[1]
