As of 2010, Stephen M. Silberstein was the founder and the first president of Innovative Interfaced, a company that supplied computer software for the automation of college and city libraries. He sold his interest in the company in 2001.[1]
Silberstein was an administrator at the University of California-Berkeley and an instructor in the Computer Science Department.
He served on the boards of the Belvedere-Tiburon Library Foundation, the University of California Berkeley Foundation, and the U.C. Berkeley Goldman School of Public Policy.
Silberstein graduated from UC-Berkeley with a B.A. in economics and a Master's degree in library science.
Political giving
- Silberstein gave $100,000 to California Proposition 25, Simple Majority Vote to Enact State Budget Amendment (2010).
- In 2006, Silberstein gave $100,000 each to the "yes" campaigns for Proposition 87, the Alternative Energy Oil Tax and Proposition 89, Public Funding for Political Campaigns.
- In 2003, the Stephen M. Silberstein Foundation gave $100,000 to Media Matters for America through the Tides Foundation.[2]
