Stephen Oglesby was a 2011 Republican candidate for District 37 of the Mississippi State Senate. He lost in the primary election to Melanie Sojourner.

Oglesby worked for 25 years with the Mississippi Forestry Commission, as the area forester for Franklin and Jefferson counties.[1]

Oglesby ran in the 2011 election for Mississippi Senate District 37. He lost to Melanie Sojourner in the primary on August 2, 2011. Incumbent Robert Dearing ran unopposed in the Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 8, 2011.[2]
