Stephen Pilcher was a 2016 Democratic candidate for the Addison-4 District of the Vermont House of Representatives.

Campaign themes

2016

Pilcher's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[1]

  • The Bristol Works! industrial park is a model for how the right infrastructure and vision can create business development that is aligned with our values and supports the community.
  • Efficiency Vermont has saved over 12 million megawatt hours of electricity since 2000. Creating a similar energy efficiency utility for fossil fuel use could create incentives for energy savings and invest in projects that help Vermonters reduce their consumption of fossil fuels.
  • Farm to Plate initiative and Buy Local programs encourage the local economy. Strengthening the local economy results in more choices for the consumer, healthier communities and more engagement by citizens.
  • The Starksboro school mentoring program is an example of how to improve school outcomes and increase community involvement without increasing costs.[2]
