In 2004, Galvin ran for Seat 7 of the 10th circuit court of Monroe County, Indiana. In the Democratic primary he ran unopposed. In the general election Galvin ran against Republican Jeffery A. Chalfant, Galvin won the general election receiving 55% of the vote.[6]
