Stephen Smith (California)
Stephen Smith was a 2014 Republican candidate for District 51 of the California State Assembly. He was previously a 2012 Republican candidate for the U.S. House to represent the 34th Congressional District of California. He lost in the general election.[1]

2014
Elections for the California State Assembly took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 3, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 7, 2014. Incumbent Jimmy Gomez (D) and write-in candidate Stephen Smith (R) were unopposed in the blanket primary.[2] Gomez defeated Smith in the general election.[3][4][5]

2012
Smith ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent California's 34th District. He and district 31 incumbent Xavier Becerra (D) advanced past the blanket primary on June 5, 2012, defeating Howard Johnson (Peace and Freedom). They faced off in the November 6, 2012, general election and Becerra won.[1][6][7]
