I am a husband, father, Veteran, West Virginian, and above all an American who believes in a system of government that "serves" the people! You may call me a patriot, constitutionalist, or a statesman, but PLEASE do not ever label me as a politician.
  • Term limits should apply at the state and national level. Even good people get boiled in the crab pot if they stay long enough. This job is about service, not "self-service". Representatives should perform that role for a limited time and then support the next person in the role who will represent the friends and neighbors of their area.
  • Transparency and ethics in government are paramount. Lobbyists, special interest groups, and political action committees do not get to purchase votes. I will NOT take any money from special interest groups.
  • Right is right, wrong is wrong, and the vote belongs to the people! I have a brain and a spine, I know how to use them both! If you are a politician who is using your position for your own benefit, or presenting legislation that doesn't make sense or is wasting time during a session while critical issues get pushed to the side, expect to be called out on it.
Economic Development, Education, Transportation, Veterans Affairs, and all areas that contribute to a thriving West Virginia.
It may seem a bit odd to those who just don't understand the context, but there are some very simple words to live by in the Outlaw Josey Wales (1976). Two of my favorite example of forthright thought are:

Chief Ten Bears:
It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men...

When a carpetbagger or politician are feeding you a line or selling snake oil in a bottle that will fix anything, here is straight forward question.

Josey Wales: [spits tobacco juice on the carpetbagger's coat] How is it with stains?”
Representatives must be CAPABLE, PASSIONATE, and ETHICAL. Any of the two without the third are useless.
I would like to see a West Virginia that is better off, meaning:

1. Good jobs that keep our young people in our state rather than pursuing their passion elsewhere.

2. An excellent quality of life that balances good jobs with West Virginia's unrivaled natural beauty.
A relationship of respect and accountability. If your not being accountable, you may not receive much respect.
Drug crisis, and there are NO short conversations on this topic. It will take a collaboration from nearly every segment of government to be successful combating a problem that is killing our residents, destroying the lives of our children, and placing an incredible financial and manpower burden on our law enforcement officers, courts, prisons, social workers, and families.

Economic development and education go hand-in-hand as West Virginia works to attract the best businesses to our state.
Term limits. The West Virginia Senate passed a term limits Bill in 2021, but the West Virginia House never took it up. In 2025, both the House and Senate should have this prepared on "day one" of the legislative session.
Transportation, Education, Economic Development.
Accountability and transparency must be hand-in-hand to ensure the best interests of the people are being pursued.
