Stephen V. Callaway
Stephen V. Callaway was a judge for the United States bankruptcy court, Western District of Louisiana.[1] He was sworn in as chief Judge on August 9, 1986. In August 2000, he was reappointed for another fourteen years.[2] Callaway retired from the court when his term expired on August 8, 2014.[3]
Education
Judge Callaway received both his undergraduate degree and J.D. from Louisiana State University.[4]
Career
From 1973 to 1986, Callaway was a partner with Burnett, Sutton, Walker & Callaway. He specialized in commercial and insolvency law. He became a founding member of both the Shreveport Estate Planning Council and the Shreveport Bank Counsel Group.[2]
Awards and associations
Callaway has been a Circuit Governor of the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges as well as President of the Harry V. Booth and Judge Henry A. Politz American Inn of Court.[2]
