Anderson issued the following statement regarding his bid for office:

"Illinois is facing serious challenges while leadership in Springfield has been lacking. Pension debt, school funding, and slow job growth among many others. I’m a man who loves his state and doesn’t want to see it crumble under the weight of the problems facing us today. That’s why I’ve decided to run for state senate in the 22nd District.

I’ve spent my whole life in Illinois. I’ve attended great public schools, K-12 and two great universities, worked here and have been involved with the community. I believe that Illinois needs bold change and I’m the candidate for the job. Illinois can’t afford to kick the can down the road any longer. The people of the 22nd district deserve a representative who will fight for them, make the hard choices and do what’s best for the district.

Illinois politicians have dug us into this mess, and we have to dig ourselves out. Decades of mismanagement and irresponsibility have put us farther and farther behind. People and jobs are fleeing to other states, taking their tax dollars with them. Illinois needs a strategy to reverse the negative outflow and put us back on track." [3]
