Steve Butler was a 2015 candidate for District 34 of the Nashville Metro Council in Tennessee. The general election took place on August 6, 2015.
Biography
Butler graduated from David Lipscomb High School in Nashville. He went on to earn a bachelor's in marketing from Lipscomb University in 1992 and an MBA in operations management from the University of Alabama in 1994.[1][2]
His professional experience includes the following:

- 2003-2006: Director of database marketing, AT&T
- 2001-2003: Director of marketing information systems, Verizon
- 1999-2000: Manager of database marketing, Verizon Wireless
- 1997-1999: Marketing analyst, Verizon Wireless
- 1994-1997: Consultant, Andersen Consulting[1]
Butler is also a founding board member of STEM Preparatory Academy and serves on the board of Matthew 25, a program that assists homeless men seeking housing and employment.[2]
Elections
2015
The city of Nashville, Tennessee, held nonpartisan elections for mayor and metro council on August 6, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was May 21, 2015. All 41 metro council seats—including the office of vice mayor—were up for election. In District 34, Angie Henderson defeated Steve Butler. Incumbent Carter Todd was term-limited.[3][4]
