Campaign themes

2016

Caramelli's website highlighted the following campaign themes:

Fighting for middle-class families – We don’t need more politicians in Springfield. We need working people who respect our friends and neighbors, and who want them to be able to make a good living and care for their families.

Lowering property taxes – Everywhere I go, I hear how high property taxes are creating pain. We need to reduce that pain and restore some sense in how we fund our government services and programs.

Opposing retirement taxes – Retirees have earned a reasonable, secure retirement. We cannot and must not tax them to make up for our mistakes in Springfield.

Increasing education funding – Our children deserve more resources and fairer funding solutions to ensure all of them have a chance to succeed in the classroom.

Supporting labor and jobs – Working men and women are the backbone of our economy, and when they do well, we all do well. I’ll fight in Springfield for them so they can keep our economy going and growing.[2][3]
