Due to redistricting, this district flipped from safely Democratic to safely Republican. Incumbent Gwen Graham (D) did not seek re-election in 2016. Neal Dunn (R) defeated Walter Dartland (D), Rob Lapham (L), and Antoine Edward Roberts (Write-in) in the general election on November 8, 2016. Campaign themes

2016

The following issues were listed on Crapps' campaign website. For a full list of campaign themes, click here.

  • Make sure we are doing everything possible to identify and stop terrorist activity on American soil.
  • Protect our 2nd amendment rights to bear arms while at the same time working to keep us safe.
  • Support Veterans Administration reform to improve the medical care and access to services Americas returning heroes need. They were there for us and now it is time for us to be there for them.
  • Refine Obamacare to make it more affordable for more families and keep a safety net in place for the vulnerable members of society. We cannot afford to allow our available services to be reduced while our costs increase over 10% per year. Stop the PENALTY from the IRS. Currently at least 8 million American families are receiving help and have medical coverage thanks to the Affordable Care Act so we want to keep it but make it better.
  • Halt illegal immigration and how to improve the refugee situation.
