Steve Gifford was a 2016 Democratic candidate for District 87 of the Connecticut House of Representatives.

Biography

Gifford served in the United States Army from 2001 to 2006. He was a tank platoon leader and served two tours in Iraq. His professional experience includes working as a Human Resources professional between 2006 and 2015. He is the President of Hartford Wire Works.

Gifford is a member of North Haven Economic Development Commission, American Legion Post 76, Veterans of Foreign Wars, North Haven Democratic Town Committee, and Rotary International.[1]

Gifford made the following statement to Ballotpedia regarding his political philosophy:[1]

Connecticut faces major problems, and it's time to address them instead of simply talking about them. We need a concerted effort to improve every aspect of our business climate, since better jobs and greater tax revenue are the only way to afford the state that we want. [2]
