Steve Hogan (Colorado)
Steve Hogan was the mayor of Aurora, Colorado. First elected in 2011, he ran unopposed for re-election on November 3, 2015. Hogan served as mayor until he passed away on May 13, 2018, due to cancer.[1]
Hogan was previously a Democratic member of the Colorado House of Representatives, representing District 40 from 1975 to 1976.[2][3] He also served as an at-large member of the Aurora City Council from 1979 to 1983, 1985 to 1997, and 2001 to 2009.[2]
Biography
Hogan's professional experience included working as a consultant and as the executive director of the E-470 Public Highway Authority and of the Northwest Parkway Public Highway Authority.[2]
Elections
2015
The city of Aurora, Colorado, held elections for mayor and city council on November 3, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was August 27, 2015. Five of the ten city council seats were up for election.[4]
In the mayoral race, incumbent Steve Hogan ran unopposed.[5]
2011
The city of Aurora, Colorado held elections for mayor and city council on November 1, 2011. The mayor's seat, two at-large seats on the city council, and the Ward IV, Ward V, and Ward VI seats on the council were up for election.[6]
Steve Hogan defeated five other candidates to win the mayoral race.[6]
