Laible ran for the Chittenden District seat in 2010. He ran against Mikey Van Gulden (I), and Larkin Forney in the primary. He was defeated by Sally Fox (D), Diane Snelling (R), Timothy Ashe (D), Virginia Lyons (D), Hinda Miller (D) and Philip Baruth (D) in the general election on November 2, 2010.[2]
