2017
Four of seven seats on the Aldine Independent School District board of trustees in Texas were up for by-district general election on November 7, 2017. Three seats were up for regular election and the Position 6 seat was scheduled for special election to fill an unexpired term.[2] All four incumbents, including the Position 6 representative appointed to the position, filed to retain their seats.[3] Incumbent Conception Esparza was the only opposed candidate and defeated challenger Barry Ward II for the Position 4 seat.[3] Position 3 incumbent Rose Avalos and Position 5 incumbent Steve Mead were unopposed in their bids for re-election. Position 6 incumbent Kimberley Booker was also unopposed, so on September 19, 2017, the board of trustees voted to cancel the Position 6 special election. The Position 3 and Position 5 seats appeared on the ballot.[4]
