Steve R. Dozier (Democratic Party) is a judge for Division I of the Tennessee 20th Judicial District Criminal Court. His current term ends on September 1, 2030.

Dozier (Democratic Party) ran for re-election for the Division I judge of the Tennessee 20th Judicial District Criminal Court. He won in the general election on August 4, 2022.

Dozier was appointed by former Governor Don Sundquist on December 12, 1997, to replace the late Thomas H. Shriver.[1][2][3]

Biography

Education

Dozier received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University in 1979 and his J.D. degree from the Nashville School of Law in 1984.[4]

Career

Dozier began his career in 1983 as a law clerk for Judge J. Randall Wyatt. The following year, he became an assistant district attorney general. In 1990, Dozier left that position to join the law firm of Williams, Smith & Dozier. He practiced there from 1990 to 1995 before returning to the office of assistant district attorney general. He worked in that capacity until his judicial appointment in 1997.[4]
