Campaign themes
2014
Stroup's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[1]
Cut Taxes, Lower Spending
- Excerpt: "Steve believes that lower taxes and efficient government will strengthen the backbone of Nebraska’s economy — our dynamic agricultural industry. Property taxes are just too high. And many state government programs are riddled with waste and a lack of oversight. Together we can eliminate waste, cut spending, and lower our tax burden."
Protect Natural Resources
- Excerpt: " Managing our natural resources, particularly our water, is one of our state’s most pressing issues. Steve is committed to bring all parties together. It’s time to find the right solution for Nebraska’s water challenges, and ensure that our agricultural economy continues to grow. "
Nebraska Values
- Excerpt: "As your senator, Steve will work to protect the values we share as Nebraskans. That includes promoting a culture of life. He believes in the sanctity of marriage, and will work to defend it in the legislature. Steve will defend Nebraska values, fighting to preserve a way of life that is important to people of the 44th District."
