Biography
Szymczak graduated from Aquinas High School in California and went on to receive his B.S. in chemistry from the University of Missouri in St. Louis. He is working as a product line manager for Baker Hughes. Szymczak has been a member of the board since 2003.[1]

Opposition
Three of the seven seats—Positions 3, 4 and 5—on the Klein Independent School District Board of Trustees were up for general election on November 3, 2015. The seats are elected at large.
Position 3 incumbent William Pilkington saw the only contested race on the ballot. Jamie Fuselier, Chester Hicks and Lannie Milon Jr. filed to contest Pilkington's re-election bid. However, Pilkington was successful in securing another term on the board. Position 4 incumbent Steve Szymczak and Position 5 incumbent Ronnie Anderson won re-election unopposed.[2]
