Steve Yates
Steve Yates (Republican Party) ran for election for Lieutenant Governor of Idaho. He lost in the Republican primary on May 15, 2018.
Yates is the former chair of the Republican Party of Idaho. He stepped down as chairman in April 2017.[1] He was a 2014 Republican candidate for District 30A of the Idaho House of Representatives.

Elections for the Idaho House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on May 20, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 14, 2014. Incumbent Jeff Thompson defeated Steve Yates in the Republican primary and defeated David G. Hay (C) in the general election.[2][3][4]

Republican Party of Idaho
Steve Yates was elected chair of the Republican Party of Idaho in August 2014. Yates was elected at the party's August 2014 state central committee meeting, two months after the June 2014 state convention failed to elect party officers. Under his leadership, the party maintained Republican majorities in the Idaho State Legislature, statewide elected offices, and the federal delegation during the 2014 election cycle.[5][6][7]
