Steve Hofbauer has served the community well for over 32 years, the last 2 as Director for your Healthcare District.

Steve is 2nd Vice Chair, and has worked hard as Finance Chairman to assure the sound financial condition of the hospital, including pursuing investment funding, not taxes, for a new state of the art hospital, to replace the existing, aging facility that won’t meet new seismic standards

Steve is the only director that has no potential conflicts of interest in serving on this board! Steve is there for the public.

Steve works with the state Association of CA Healthcare Districts on legislative advocacy.

We are opening a new 40 bed Emergency Room addition, one of the busiest in the state, to improve patient care and access. We have added state of the art diagnostic equipment and upgraded imaging to improve outcomes.

Steve retired as elected Mayor of Palmdale, with a distinguished 30 year history of service on the council and planning commission.

Steve is a Valor Award recipient, and is retired from LA Fire Department, where he served as a Fire Paramedic and Inspector.

Steve maintains his National Registry Emergency Medical Technician and Wilderness EMS certifications, volunteering with the local Sheriff Search and Rescue Team and at Boy Scout camps, as well as a Fire Tower Lookout with US Forest Service.
