Steven Jones (Texas)
Steven Jones was the District 1 representative on the Irving Independent School District school board in Texas from 2011 to 2019. First elected in 2011, he sought re-election in the general election that was supposed to be held on May 6, 2017, but it was canceled due to lack of opposition. Jones won re-election by default.
Biography
Jones spent 12 years as a student in the Irving Independent School District, attending Brandenburg Elementary, Travis Junior High, and MacArthur High School. He earned both a bachelor's degree and a D.D.S. from Baylor University. He was a founding producer of Lyric Stage, a locally-produced musical theatre company in Dallas County.[1]

Two of the seven seats on the Irving Independent School District board of trustees were up for general election on May 6, 2017. In his bid for re-election to the District 1 seat, incumbent Steven Jones ran unopposed and won another term. District 2 incumbent Nell Anne Hunt defeated challenger Sharon DeBerry.[2][3]

This election was canceled due to lack of opposition. Incumbent Steven Jones won another term by default.[4]

Jones did not file a campaign finance report with the Texas Ethics Commission.[5]
