Steven Jupiter
Steven Jupiter is a judge for Division G of the Orleans Parish Traffic Court in Louisiana. His current term ends on December 31, 2030.
Jupiter (Democratic Party) won re-election for the Division G judge of the Orleans Parish Traffic Court in Louisiana outright in the primary on November 8, 2022, after the primary and general election were canceled.
Education
Jupiter earned a B.A. from Xavier University, going on to receive his J.D. from the Catholic University of America. He was admitted to the bar in 1997.[1]

Jupiter previously worked as an attorney.[2]

Louisiana elections use the majority-vote system. All candidates compete in the same primary, and a candidate can win the election outright by receiving more than 50 percent of the vote. If no candidate does, the top two vote recipients from the primary advance to the general election, regardless of their partisan affiliation.

The primary election was canceled. Steven Jupiter (D) won the election without appearing on the ballot.
2013
Jupiter ran for election to the Orleans Parish Traffic Court.
Primary: He received 23.0 percent of the vote in the primary on October 19, 2013, defeating Marie A. Bookman, Demetrie Ford, Patrick A. Giraud, Charmaine L. Marchand, Richard Perque, Nanak Rai and D. Nicole Sheppard.
General: He was defeated by Clint Smith in the general election on November 16, 2013, after receiving 53.8 percent of the vote.[3][4][5]
