Steven M. Jaeger was a judge for the Nassau County Court in New York. He served as a judge for the court from 2005 until the end of his last term on December 31, 2014. Jaeger also served as an acting justice for the Nassau County Supreme Court from 2006 to December 2014.[1][2][3]

Jaeger ran again for the Nassau County Court in 2015. He was defeated in the general election.[4]

Education

Jaeger received his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1973 and his J.D. from the New York University Law School in 1976.[2]

Career

Jaeger worked as a principal law clerk for County Court Judge Meryl J. Berkowitz in 2000 and 2001 before becoming a judge himself. In 2002, he joined the Nassau County District Court. He was then appointed an acting judge for the Nassau County Family Court in 2005. Later that year, Jaeger was elected to the Nassau County Court. He was appointed an acting supreme court justice in 2006.[2]

Primary: He was defeated in the Independence primary on September 9, 2014, receiving 13.6 percent of the vote. He competed against Tammy S. Robbins, Caryn R. Fink, Terence P. Murphy, William J. O'Brien and Fran Ricigliano. Additionally, he ran on the Democratic party line, though there was no primary for that party.
