For more than a century, my family has called the Spokane area home, establishing deep roots in Eastern Washington. Growing up on a wheat farm near Cheney, Washington, where my family has lived for five generations, I gained firsthand experience of rural life, spending my youth in the hay field and tending to animals. This upbringing has given me a personal understanding of the challenges and values of rural Washington.

Throughout my adult life, I have dedicated myself to serving others. Whether it was caring for my grandmother or assisting those experiencing homelessness, I have always prioritized the well-being of others. Initially trained as a union cement mason in my early twenties, my career path was altered due to a genetic eye disorder that significantly impacted my vision. However, this setback did not deter me from pursuing my passion for helping others.

Currently, I am pursuing a degree in social work at Eastern Washington University, aiming to enhance my ability to support individuals in underserved communities. In 2023, I had the honor of being elected as a Water Commissioner for District 10 of Spokane County, and I was also appointed to the Governor's Committee for Disability Issues and Employment for Washington State. These roles allow me to contribute to the betterment of my community and advocate for the rights and inclusion of individuals with disabilities.
  • Eastern Washington's farms are the backbone of its agricultural industry. They not only provide food for our families but also contribute to the region's economy. By supporting local farmers, promoting sustainable farming practices, and investing in agricultural research and innovation, we can ensure that our farms remain productive and resilient in the face of changing environmental conditions.
  • Preserving Eastern Washington as a nurturing environment for families goes beyond protecting its natural resources. It also means supporting the social and economic well-being of its residents. By investing in education, we can create opportunities for families to thrive and succeed. This includes ensuring access to quality schools and fostering a diverse and inclusive community that celebrates the contributions of all its members.
  • One of the key elements that make Eastern Washington so special is its abundant natural resources. From the pristine waters of the Columbia River to the lush forests and fertile farmlands, these resources are not only essential for the region's economy but also for the well-being of its residents. By preserving and responsibly managing these resources, we can ensure that they continue to support our families for years to come.
It is imperative to allocate resources towards improving our infrastructure to accommodate the increasing population. By investing in modern and durable roads and infrastructure, we can ensure the long-term prosperity of our state.
Our cities are currently grappling with a significant addiction crisis, which necessitates a comprehensive approach to address its underlying causes. It is crucial that our laws are informed by a deep understanding of the factors contributing to addiction, as well as effective strategies to support individuals on their path toward a healthier lifestyle.
I prioritize listening over speaking. In my opinion, an effective leader should always lend an ear to those seeking solutions to their problems.
Transparency in government is crucial as it safeguards the public from corruption when officials are held accountable for their actions. While certain sensitive areas need protection, oversight should be conducted cautiously to ensure all aspects of government business are monitored. It is essential to have someone constantly overseeing those in positions of power.
