Steven P. Van Marel is a district associate judge of Iowa District 2B. He was appointed to this position in 1987. Van Marel was retained to another six-year term in the 2010 general election. He was retained again in the general election on November 8, 2016.[1][2]

Biography

Van Marel graduated from Iowa State University in 1980 with a degree in community and regional planning. He earned his J.D. from the University of Iowa in 1983.[1]

Van Marel previously served as an assistant Wapello County attorney and an assistant Story County attorney.[1]
