Campaign themes
2016
Robnak's campaign website highlighted the following issues:
| “ |
Government Spending: I don't think its right or ethical that the state government of Missouri used tax payer money to plan for the Rams stadium in St. Louis. To make the matter worse, when the Rams sell the practice stadium they are able to walk away taking advantage of the taxpayers. We need to hold government responsable for abusing its power for private gains or using emenant domaine for private sector projects vs. public use like roads. We need to be more responsable with our finances as a State, as well as keeping government out of your checkbook as much as possible. We need to make it simplier for smaller companies to compete for government bids, and we also need to consider what we spend our money on and if government is really the best entity to provide the service or if a non governemnt entity could provide the service better. Social Issues: It is important that every citizen of the state of Missouri and every legal resident has equal rights under the law. Its also important that people are not persecuted for what they belive in. People of all relgions have a right to peacefully worship G_d(s). Much like customers have a right to select who they do business with or not, businesses should have a right to refuse service on similar grounds. They shouldn't be forced into an arrangement they are uncomfortable with. Much like a doctor can refuse to do surgury on a baby because he doesn't want to hurt the child, a business should be able to refuse service on a matter they are uncomfortable with. Every responsable Missourian should have the right to do what they want if it is done in a peaceful and safe manner in regards to themselves and other people. Education: The people of Missouri should get the education that they pay for through taxes. School performance and education atainment is slipping. We need to figure out why this is happening. Some countries spend far lower on education, have much lower access to the internet, computers, and their students can outperform ours in secondary education. We should study cost effectivly what works for people around the globe , and incorperate these methods into our schools. Reaching accross the asile: I am a centrist, I understand the issues and concerns from both sides of the aisle. I can come to the table with my experience in conflict resolution in rough parts of the world such as Ethiopia, Somalia, Eretreia, Kenya , and my studies in diplomacy in Israel. WIth my experience working with conflicts in the horn of Africa, and also with the Israel-Palestine conflict, I can use this expereince to bring two opposing sides together to address the concerns of both parties, address the solutions proposed by both parties, and to work on legislation and solutions to problems that both sides can at least agree to.[1] |
