Ballotpedia provides comprehensive election coverage of the 100 largest cities in America by population as well as mayoral, city council, and district attorney election coverage in state capitals outside of the 100 largest cities. This board member is outside of that coverage scope and does not receive scheduled updates.
Steven Scriven is a Trustee Area 2 member of the Yuba City Board of Education in California. His seat was up for general election on November 4, 2014. Steven Scriven won the general election on November 4, 2014. Scriven was first elected to the board in 2006.[1]
Scriven was targeted for recall in July 2016, along with three other members of the school board. Proponents of the recall said board members had created "an increasingly negative and hostile environment" during teacher compensation negotiations. The targeted board members, however, said the board had tried to resolve issues "in a fair and equitable manner."[2] The recall effort did not turn in petitions by the deadline on December 9, 2016.[3]
