Steven Steiner (Republican Party) ran for election to the New Hampshire State Senate to represent District 3. Steiner lost in the Republican primary on September 11, 2018.

Campaign themes

In an electronic communication with Ballotpedia, Steiner describes his political philosophy:[1]

Taxes

  • Excerpt: "By lowering the Business Profits Tax and Business Enterprise Tax, we can create an environment for businesses to prosper in the Mount Washington Valley Area. I would never support any effort to impose a sales, income, or other broad-based tax."

Economic Development and Job Growth

  • Excerpt: "By expanding and upgrading the Fryeburg Airport to allow commercial air traffic and by creating a Granite State Economic Zone in Conway that would include energy and tax incentives, my economic development plan will attract businesses to relocate to the Mount Washington Valley Area."

Drugs

  • Excerpt: "Like many of us who have lost kids to drugs, I have made it my life’s mission to see that other families are spared the pain and anguish that I have suffered with the loss of my 19-year-old son. I would never support any effort to legalize or to normalize drug use."

Right to Work

  • Excerpt: "It is my firm belief that all Americans should have the right to work without having to be associated or a member of any organization as a prerequisite."

Energy

  • Excerpt: "I would support any and all efforts to repeal RGGI (The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative). I also would look into what other states are doing to keep their energy costs low"
