2017
A special election for the position of Georgia House of Representatives District 119 was called for November 7, 2017. The candidate filing deadline was September 15.[1] The candidates who successfully qualified were Democrat Jonathan Wallace and Republicans Lawton Lord, Marcus A. Wiedower, and Steven Strickland. Wallace won the special election on November 7, flipping the seat from Republican to Democratic control.
The seat became vacant following Chuck Williams' (R) appointment as director of the Georgia Forestry Commission in August 2017.
