Steven Suzukawa
Steven C. Suzukawa was a justice on the Second District, Division Four of the California Courts of Appeal. He was appointed by Governor Schwarzenegger on May 2, 2006 and took his oath of office on June 9, 2006.[1] He retired on March 7, 2014.[2]
Education
Steven Suzukawa was born in Tokyo, Japan and has lived in California since 1960. In 1976, he graduated and in 1979, he received his law degree from UCLA.[3]
Career
During law school, Suzukawa, worked as part of the legal staff of the California Teachers Association. He was a deputy district attorney for Los Angeles County from 1980 to 1989, and was then appointed by Governor Deukmejian to the Compton Municipal Court. Governor Wilson appointed him to the superior court in 1992. In 1992, 2004, and 2005, he served as a justice pro tem for the courts of appeal. He was appointed to that court in 2006.[3]

Suzukawa was retained in 2010 with 68.2% of the vote.[4]
