My name is Stoney S. Greene and I was born and raised in Wilkes County and I have many friends and business associates in Alexander County. I love this area of our state and I want to see it prosper above all else. After talking with many folks that encouraged me to seek this seat, prayer and discussion with my family I felt it was my responsibility to run. I was born and raised in Purlear, NC. I have always lived here and made my living here just like my neighbor has. I know the challenges the average hardworking family has here in Wilkes. I’ve lived it. I am an honest hard working individual with a passion to help others. I have a proven record of leadership in my community, my church, my businesses and local government. I vote conservative and always with the thought “how is this going to affect my family, my neighbor, my constituents” foremost in my mind. I was here when NAFTA desecrated our economy, and the citizens of this district were forced to overcome this adversity and continue forward. I know the challenges of living in this area. When I go to Raleigh my intention is to concentrate on our area and fight for every opportunity available to improve the lives of my constituents. I have always been a small business owner. I understand meeting the payroll, budgets and caring for the livelihood of my employees. I also have experience as Chairman of Wilkes County Commissioners governing the Great State of Wilkes.
  • When elected as the state representative of the 94th district my primary focuses will be to procure much needed funding for our children, adults and seniors in Wilkes and Alexander. I will be working to improve funding for our school systems and teachers. Having a daughter and several aunts that are or have worked in the public school system I am acutely aware of the needs facing the staff and children today and in the future.
  • I also want to look at each counties’ infrastructure and their needs. I will work to find funding to improve infrastructure with the intention of attracting new jobs. Also, as many of our citizens are, I too am also concerned with the homeless situation that has developed recently in our area. As your representative these are areas I plan to research and concentrate on seeking solutions.
  • Another focus would be to find funding for future expansion of our sewer and water systems. To have pad ready sites available is a major attraction for new businesses. As a blue-collar small business working man I am interested in continuing funding and developing more programs and opportunities through our community college system for the trades. I don’t believe everyone has to go to a four-year university and accrue debt to live a good life in our area.
The crisis at the border is a national security issue that is affecting everyone due to the huge influx of undocumented immigrants who are not being vetted nor detained for any amount of time. Individuals from all over the world are bringing illegal drugs for unfettered distribution. Sex traffickers are bringing children and women as into the US as sex slaves. As cited in the 2023 movie Sounds of Freedom there are more humans in slavery today than in any other time in history. I realize this is not just a border problem. Those crossing are being transported to North Carolina. I am resolved to go to Raleigh with the intention of investigating and finding solutions to these problems.
Integrity, doing the right thing when no one is looking. Willing to do the hard work to get it right. Honesty, not just cash register honest, but honest with myself.
Evaluate our district's needs and out those needs at the top my to do list. Listen constituents are help them where I am able.
Housing, transportation for our seniors, and pay for teachers.
Yes, my experience supporting other national, state and local candidates throughout the years was very beneficial in creating working relationship that are in place in Raleigh and in Washinton. My time as a Wilkes County Commissioner has been invaluable to me for my education in government and how our legislative system works.

There are two i am honored to call friends. Rep. Jeffery Elmore and Sen. Eddie Settle. I am seeking Rep. Elmore's vacated house seat. I feel Jeffery has left this with distinction and it will be an honor to pick up where he left off to carry on his good work. Sen. Settle is a first term senator from our area who is doing an outstanding job. I know he will be a valuable resource for me when I go to work on day one.
Appropriations, Agricultural and Transportation
Transparency is a must. I believe that that which is done in the dark come to the light. I don't intend to do anything I can't defend or discuss with anyone.
