Following the 2020 presidential election, 33.8% of New Hampshirites lived in either Hillsborough or Sullivan County, the state's two Battleground Democratic counties, which voted for the Democratic presidential candidate in 2012 and 2020 and the Republican in 2016, and 32.8% lived in one of four Solid Democratic counties. Overall, New Hampshire was Solid Democratic, having voted for Barack Obama (D) in 2012, Hillary Clinton (D) in 2016, and Joe Biden (D) in 2020.
