Stuart Palmer
Stuart Palmer was a judge assigned to the First District Appellate Court in Illinois. He was appointed to the Cook Judicial Circuit Court in 1994 and assigned to the First District Appellate Court, effective January 6, 2012. Though he worked as an appellate judge, Palmer still faced retention elections to his position on the Cook Judicial Circuit Court.[1][2] On January 5, 2015, Palmer was assigned again to the First District Appellate Court, effective January 7, 2015, and expiring on December 5, 2016.[3]
Palmer did not file to stand for retention in 2016.[4] He retired and was succeeded by Eileen O'Neill Burke.
Education
Palmer is a graduate of Northwestern University Law School.[1]
Career
Before he became a judge, Palmer served as an assistant state's attorney for Cook County.[1]
Elections
2012
Palmer was retained to the Cook Judicial Circuit Court on November 6, 2012, with 76.8% of the vote.[5]
