Stuart R. Berger is an at-large member of the Appellate Court of Maryland. He assumed office in 2011. His current term ends on December 31, 2032.
Berger ran for re-election for judge of the Maryland Court of Special Appeals At-large (Historical). He won in the retention election on November 8, 2022.
He was appointed to this position by Democratic Governor Martin O'Malley on December 22, 2011, to succeed Judge Ellen Hollander.
The Maryland Court of Special Appeals became the Appellate Court of Maryland, following a 2022 constitutional amendment that changed the court's name.[1]
Education
Berger received his B.A. in economics from Bucknell University, graduating cum laude in 1981, and his J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1984.[2]
