Su Chon

Su Chon was judge for the Third Judicial District in Utah. She was nominated by Governor Gary R. Herbert (R) and confirmed by the Senate in 2012.[1] Chon was sworn in on October 9, 2012.[2]
Chon won a retention election on November 8, 2016.[3]
Chon retired from the court on November 25, 2022.
Biography
Chon earned her B.A. and J.D. from Brigham Young University.[4] She was an attorney for 18 years prior to her appointment to the court. She also worked for the Office of the Utah Property Rights Ombudsman.[1]

Utah held retention elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. The filing deadline for sitting judges seeking retention was April 15, 2016. Su Chon was retained in the Utah 3rd District Court (Chon Seat) election with 57.58 percent of the vote. [3]
