I am a mom, a lawyer and a public servant, who cares about people and can build bridges to get the needed work done, currently serving as Chair of the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners where I am working hard to ensure that all our residents get what they need and have access to opportunity no matter their income, race, age, sexual orientation or zip code. In addition to increasing the budget allocations for safety net services, I have led the work to increase funding to build capacity in people through the $* million Community Priority Fund, prevent evictions and repair homes through $1.7 million Weatherization Fund, invest in students through subsidized childcare and Children's savings accounts to increase the rate of high school graduation, college and trade school. I've also increased access to mental and physical health care, including reproductive health care. I fight gun violence, allocating over $2 million to work with those most at risk. I've also led the fight against Climate Change--getting our planning off the ground and reducing the county's emissions by 1/3 by the end of this year!
  • Protect Abortion and Civil Rights for Every Person
  • Fight Gun Violence and make Michigan Safer
  • Invest in People and Create Opportunity for All
I am personally passionate about listening to residents so I understand the worries and struggles of people as well as the joys and strengths. I love to work with people to figure out how we can solve problems together and make our community better and then get to work and get it done, bringing in data, experts, and others who bring value to the situation to get the work needed done. I have been able to make improvements in the way Washtenaw County engages the public, addresses root causes of poverty, supports education, takes care of our natural resources and provides physical and mental health care.

Please take a look at my website to see the work I've done to support reproductive health care, address gun violence, preserve farmland and open space, fight for clean water, increase affordable housing, increase opportunity through removal of barriers and investment in neighborhood organizations and preschool access--and much much more!

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Michigan

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
