A Sugarcreek Township Fire District Tax Levy question was on the November 6, 2012 election ballot in Stark County, which is in Ohio, where it was approved.

This question authorized the Township of Sugarcreek to renew a property tax levy of 2.5 mills ($2.5 per $1,000 of assessed valuation) for five years in order to fund the fire protection services of the township.[1]

Text of measure

Language on the ballot:

A renewal of a tax for the benefit of Sugarcreek Township Fire District for the purpose of providing and maintaining fire apparatus, appliances, buildings, or sites therefor, or sources of water supply and materials therefor, or the establishment and maintenance of lines of fire alarm telegraph, or the payment of firefighting companies or permanent, part-time, or volunteer firefighting, emergency medical service, administrative, or communications personnel to operate the same, including the payment of any employer contributions required for such personnel under Section 145.48 or 742.34 of the Revised Code, or the purchase of ambulance equipment, or the provision of ambulance, paramedic, or other emergency medical services operated by a fire department or firefighting company at a rate not exceeding two and one-half (2.5) mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to twenty-five cents ($0.25) for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for five (5) years, commencing in 2013, first due in calendar year 2014.[1][2]
