Florida: Broward County Judge Mary Rudd Robinson has filed a lawsuit against opponent Jordan H. Jordan for listing his former name, Jordan H. Breslaw, on the 2010 ballot. According to Florida elections laws, a candidate must run under then name that they use to conduct official and private business, and Breslaw was registered with the Florida Bar, held chiropractic and driver's licenses, authored a book as Jordan, and also lost a 2006 bid for judicial election under the name Jordan H. Jordan, the name to which he legally changed to in 1991. It was unknown why Jordan wished to run under the name Breslaw, but he did say, "Jordan Howard Breslaw is my birth name, and I'm proud of it." Robinson filed the suit asking Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes to disqualify Jordan because, the person, Jordan H. Breslaw listed on the ballot, does not exist. After appealing the case to the Florida Fourth District Court of Appeal, he was reinstated to the ballot.
