Supreme Court declines O.J. appeal
May 18, 2011
LAS VEGAS, Nevada: The seven members of the Nevada Supreme Court have decided against hearing O.J. Simpson's appeal.[1]
But Simpson's lawyer Malcolm LaVergne has not given up yet, he has told The Associated Press he will take the case to federal court. The defense argues that Simpson didn't intend to commit a crime because he was under the impression that he was retrieving personal items from sports memorabilia dealers in the Las Vegas hotel room in September 2007.[1]
Simpson is currently serving nine to 33 years in Nevada state prison on kidnapping, armed robbery and other charges.[1]
