Surrogate Court Judge acquitted
April 2, 2010
New York City, New York: Judge Nora Anderson, of the New York Surrogate's Court in Manhattan, was acquitted of charges of intentionally filing false campaign reports. The charges had to do with some large monetary gifts that Judge Anderson had received from a Mr. Rubenstein. These offerings exceeded campaign contribution limits, but were personally given to Judge Anderson herself (rather than to her campaign), so she was acquitted of the charges. She will now be able to return to the position to which she was elected and then immediately suspended on January 1, 2009.[1]
