Susan Carlson (b. November 2, 1949) is a former Democratic member of the Missouri House of Representatives, representing District 64 from 2011 to 2013.

Carlson's professional experience includes the following; attorney at the United States Department of Justice, law professor at Washington University Law School, and high school teacher.

Carlson earned her J.D. from the University of Nebraska, her BFA in education from the University of Nebraska, and her AA from Cottey College for Women.

Carlson ran for re-election in the 2012 election for Missouri House of Representatives, District 87. Carlson was initially defeated by incumbent Stacey Newman in the August 7 primary election. She was then defeated by Newman on September 24 in a new election, which was called after it was discovered that workers at a polling station handed out over one hundred incorrect ballots.[1][2][3]
